40th...

A caricature created for a birthday card and they even made cup cakes too. They look good enough to... well, eat!

Chaplin...

This was from a caricature for the Caricature Showdown 3000! on Facebook. The caricature wasn't working because the photo I was working from was too dark, so, I thought I'd try it as a black & white image instead, I think it works because Charlie Chaplin's 'tramp' is such an iconic and recognisable figure.

James Earl Jones...

Actor James Earl Jones, there's a hint of a shadow of Darth Vader (to mark my favorite piece of film voice-over work). This was drawn as part of the Caricaturama Showdown 3000! competition. It came out not bad so I thought I'd include it here.

Typically, for a British Summer, it's raining...quite a lot...non stop. Now everywhere is flooding. The kids are enjoying it, in their wellies upto their knees.

This started life as a new 'Logo' for me to use on my Facebook Page, but the likeness wasn't very good so I ditched the idea... I spent a lot of time messing about with it, so I thought I'd include it here anyway.

With the weather as a bad as it is around here at the moment, I have been dreaming of hot and sunny days at the beach. This is an illustration I came up with while wishing I was somewhere hot. I thought this would make a good poster.

Summer Girl...

The weather has been unusually gorgeous for the time of year.

I rough sketched a few people while on my lunch break. This was one of those cartoon sketches I did of a young lady as she made the most of the warm weather. (Well, I say she made the most of it...I don't know that she made the most it...but she looked very summery!)

Also, in an unrelated comment, I want to say Happy 1st Year to my blog...I started it a year ago this month. Happy Birthday to me!

Jenson Button...

So, Jenson was in the news at the weekend, although if I'm honest, I didn't take much notice of why he was in the news... I should take more notice of what's going on all around but I do have a short atten....ooh! a squirrel...erm!...where was I?

Anyway, this was a drawing I did from a sketch I made when Jenson was on the news last weekend. If anyone knows why he was in the news, perhaps you could post me a comment...

I like Adam Sandler films, although... there is one that I couldn't get on with... but I can't remember what it's called...

Happy Gilmore has the same approach to golf that I have, except that when I (eventually) hit the ball, It tends to spin and slice to the extreme right of where I'm standing. My golf technique has more in common with throwing a boomerang!

Flame Portrait...

After 16 separate layers in Photoshop, I began to get bored. It's not a caricature or a cartoon but I thought it was worth adding to the blog... If you look hard enough, you can see a face in there...somewhere!

Great telly...I did rough sketches while watching Mock The Week the other night, then finished these off on the computer. I plan to do a few more soon.

My favourite band. Can't believe it's been 30 years, this year, since they split up...how old do I feel now!!

Robbie Williams...

I don't really have much of an opinion about Robbie one way or the other, although, I think there's a fine line between confidence and arrogance...that's all I'm saying. Oh, and, I think Take That should've carried on without him.

Anyway, I wanted to draw something to mark the passing of 3000 hits to this blog (a couple of weeks ago) and Robbie was quite easy to draw.
